Itinerary
Day 1: Dinner Party: Barcelona
Welcome to Barcelona! Enjoy an included arrival transfer to the hotel followed by an evening welcome briefing. Set off with your CEO and new travelling companions to enjoy a delicious tapas dinner. There's no better way to dive into the Spanish culture than by enjoying the local gastronomy in and amongst friends.
Barcelona is known for the iconic works of Antoni Gaudi including the famous Sagrada Familia and Park Güell, and is home to Lionel Messi's football club, F.C Barcelona. It's a cultural hub and offers a wide array of trendy restaurants offering mouth-watering cuisine. If you have extra time, we recommend taking extra time to enjoy everything this incredible city has to offer.
Day 2: We Day: Barcelona
Today is all about exploration, local flavours and community. Jump head-first into Barcelona with a guided walking tour this morning. Head out and explore the city's oldest and most atmospheric neighbourhood before a light lunch with a vermouth tasting. In the afternoon, take part in a cooking class at a G Adventures-supported migrant training kitchen. Meet some of the students and learn from the resident chef how to make paella, one of Spain's most iconic dishes, before devouring your delicious creation for dinner.
Vermouth is a fortified wine, historically made to be either sweet or dry, and is flavoured with herbs, spices, citrus, and sugar. Spanish Vermouth is typically sweet and red but dry white vermouth can be found there as well.
Day 3: G Day: Barcelona to Madrid
All aboard! Time to experience what G does best and become immersed in Spain's culture and history with a surprise G twist occurring somewhere along the way. Enjoy breakfast at your hotel this morning before boarding a train bound for Madrid. Drop off your luggage then head out for a light walking lunch upon arrival to orient yourself and get a taste of what Madrid has to offer. This afternoon, set off with a local guide on a walking tour to discover the city's must-see landmarks while gaining a greater understanding into what makes Madrid so unique. There's no better way to get to know a country than to immerse yourself in their cuisine so buckle up and see where the day takes you.
Day 4: Me Day: Madrid
After three days of exploration with your fellow solo-ish travellers, today is yours. Choose to accompany your CEO on a walk to the grand El Retiro Park for a relaxing stroll through its gardens and the chance to rent a row boat, otherwise take the day for yourself to do as you please. Perhaps pay visit one of the many local museums; Museo Reina Sofia or Museo del Prado, or maybe take in a Flamenco Show. Madrid really does have it all and there's no better time than today to set off and discover it for yourself.
Day 5: Madrid/Granada
Wave a bittersweet goodbye to Madrid this morning as you board another train headed for Granada, with a stop in Córodba. After dropping luggage off in storage, walk to the city centre and join a local guide for a walking tour. Learn about the city's rich history and culture returning to the train station and continuing south to Granada, the next stop on this exciting adventure.
Day 6: Granada
Today is a big day, - one for the books - with a guided visit of the Alhambra, an architectural masterpiece and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afterwards, head back to the city centre and enjoy a free afternoon and evening to explore. Take advantage of the time to wander the whitewashed historic quarter of the Albaicín Neighbourhood, visit the Sacromonte caves in the gypsy quarter, or stay in the city centre to enjoy the trendy tapas bars and lively music scene.
Day 7: Granada/Seville
Enjoy one more free morning for any final sightseeing in Granada before catching the train to Seville. Proudly the birthplace of flamenco and home to three UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Seville is a vibrant city with lots to see and do. Get your bearings on a CEO-led orientation walk in the evening before an optional dinner out with the group.
Day 8: Seville
Enjoy a free day to get the most out of everything that Seville has to offer. Take the opportunity to explore the interiors and gardens of the Alcázar, a magnificent palace dating from Moorish times, or visit the true heart of Seville, the Santa Cruz quarter— a charming area with winding alleys, picturesque lime-washed houses, flowery patios, and small squares. Regroup in the evening for an optional dinner and final night out on the town with your travel mates.
Day 9: Seville
You arrived a solo traveller and are leaving with many new friends. Say goodbye to your fellow Solo-ish travellers and depart at any time.
