Itinerary
Touch down in Thailand's capital. After checking into our hotel there'll be time for DIY exploring, a massage or lying by the pool to catch the first of that sweet tropical sunshine. Later we'll rendezvous back at base so you can hear what's in store for the trip, then the night is yours to enjoy authentic Pad thai & the Khao San road nightlife.
Accommodation: W22 by Burasari (or similar)
This morning why not opt to view the intricacies of the Grand Palace of Bangkok as they are peeled back by a Local Guide, or if that's not your thing, dig into some street food or indulge in a Thai massage. Come evening we'll be riding the comfortable overnight train to Surat Thani.
Accommodation: Overnight Train
Meals: Breakfast
Good morning train goers! While you were catching up on your beauty sleep, we were transporting you to Surat Thani, less than 2 hours from the paradise that is Khao Sok. Grab some breakfast before we hit the road – you’re going to need the fuel for the fun and frolics that lay ahead. Lush accommodation set amidst the jungle of Khao Sok - don't mind if we do! After you’ve settled into this dreamy new life, the day is yours to explore the lush Khao Sok National Park. Swim, take a canoe tour or just max relax under a canopy of swaying trees. It’s a tough life.
Accommodation: Riverside Cottages (or similar)
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Hopefully the birds wake you nice and early this morning - we've got a solid day of exploring coming up. First on the agenda is a long tail boat ride across Cheow Larn Lake where we'll lose ourselves in the beauty of the limestone cliffs and surrounding wilderness. After lunch we'll stay on the watercraft theme, hopping on a bamboo raft that will take us to the incredible views of Pakarang Caves. Later you can choose to go kayaking, hiking or swimming then we’ll seal off the day with a squad dinner.
Accommodation: Sai Chon Raft House (or similar)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Today we transit from one paradise found to another. Waving goodbye to our jungle setting, we head off in search of the ocean-side village of Krabi. By early afternoon we'll be slipping into the island lifestyle of Krabi. For some of us, cocktails and coconuts poolside will be high priority; for others, a poke around the markets and a swim in the ocean overlooking Thailand's iconic vista of islands will be the call of the day. No matter how you choose to kick it, the good times are guaranteed.
Accommodation: Avani Ao Nang Cliff Krabi Resort (or similar)
Meals: Breakfast
Smiles will be broad over breakfast this morning as we settle in for another day in Krabi. A half day cruise of the islands and Rai Lei beach is up for grabs, if you can drag yourself away from pool hangs at our hotel. Either way, a bit of swimsuit action and water submersion is pretty much a given.
Accommodation: Avani Ao Nang Cliff Krabi Resort (or similar)
Meals: Breakfast
Heading south along the Thai peninsula, we'll arrive in Satun, where a ferry ride will land us in an untapped archipelago & a new country - Malaysia. For two days we will be free to lose sense of time amidst the slanted palm trees, teal waters & mountainous backdrop of Langkawi Island.
Accommodation: Holiday Villa Langkawi (or similar)
Meals: Breakfast
Ocean… palm trees… mountain backdrops… is this the prettiest travel destination ever? This morning, you’ll have the chance to kick back and enjoy the sun in your own way. Tonight, there’s an optional sunset dinner cruise too (think of it as the cherry on top of a wonderful day).

It can also be attributed to the New Zealand slang 'Tiki-tour' describing taking a longer route to a destination in order to explore.[5]

Thought the whole experience was bang for buck and will be planning another trip with contiki ASAP. Everything was really well organised. (Our trip manager) was amazing. Heaps of energy and loads of fun but also very knowledgeable. A great way to see a lot of places and a good variety of activities from the city to the great outdoors. Would 100% recommend contiki!

Only thing I wish I knew was that at the end of the trip usually the group become friends already and I could book extra stay to continue exploring Singapore, as one day was NOT enough. We had to rush and we still manage to visit 1 garden park and that was it. Unfortunately, due to lack of communication from Contiki customer service. We never knew on the itinerary what hotels we were staying at and that we could book extra stays for the last stop. I had 1 week off after the trip and wished I spent it in Singapore instead of at home. It was my first contiki after all. Now, I know how to prepare for next time. As for our trip manager - she was great. Very friendly and helpful all the way. I liked all her flyers she made for each part of the trip. Very dedicated person. I had a lot of fun on my trip though some part of it especially at the end was quite rushed. I gained a lot pf experience. They never added me to the emails. I kept calling and requesting but because it was my friend who made the booking. They assumed we live together and I could just look into her emails for info I guess?! It was frustrating to not be able to follow through what was going on. I had to rely on my friend to forward me email updates each time. The staff didn’t know a lot of information either. Every time I would call a different person would pick and different information was given.

This trip was a once in a lifetime experience. It was my first trip with contiki and I will definitely go on many more! Except for one pretty bad hotel in Malaysia, everything from our accommodation, food and transport to overall safety and guidance by our tour manager was great! Booking the trip was straight forward and easy. I would’ve liked to receive more information prior to the trip (tips on what to pack, what to expect from the trip with regards to how much money to bring or who my fellow travellers were). During the trip we go a lot of tips from our amazing tour manager on what to do at each destination though which made the trip a once in a lifetime experience. Would definitely recommend to a friend.

Purchase was easy, and as I originally booked for March, it was flexible to change the dates to November. Contiki organized well, first time going to SE Asia and it was fantastic! Should get a new local guide for parts of Malaysia. Hotels we stayed at were fantastic!

Zoe Kelly was the best trip manager! Her organization and skills to accommodate our needs was amazing. Shes so extremely knowledgeable and was so king throughout our whole experience. She has a lot of patience and was great at problem solving. I never had to. Stress or worry because I knew Zoe had everything planned. Could not be more happy with my experience, the trip my trip manager etc!I had a great experience booking my trip, I spoke to many agents over the phone for additional details. I do wish the itinerary was released sooner so I can better pack and plan however. Otherwise the payment plan option etc were all great features!

Had a great time, great group of people was a great tour guide very helpful. Only thing I would add would be on extra night on Singapore together, that would have made the whole thing perfect. People helping me book were quick and very helpful with answers. They did lack some info on additional activities but on the whole everything was really good.
