Day of the Dead takes place between October 31 and November 2 and is a celebration and remembrance of the deceased. Some of the “ofrendas” (altars) are very elaborate and include sugar skulls and marigold flowers. In most regions, the souls of infants and children are honoured on November 1. Adults are remembered on November 2. It is generally a festive rather than somber gathering.

The CEOs! Both of our trips with you have been elevated by the hosts. This was especially true this time with Alonso, he has deep love and passion for his country and it showed.

The CEO Laura was amazing! She made the tour utterly fantastic for us every step of the way we were supported to get the most out of our tour, experience and trip. I would recommend G Adventures and their fanastic CEOs to anyone looking to travel, especially if they are a little unfarmilar with the country, area or travelling.

The tour was amazing just let down by the Mixquic tour that was so frightening with the pushing and shoving of the hundreds of people there. I was so panicked that I ended up a shaking claustrophobic mess.

Alonso, as my first guide with G Adventures, was fantastic! He was knowledgeable and fostered a safe space for our group to explore the unknown. He was attentive to requests and shared daily alternative options if group members were unable yo attend planned adventures. He was/is kind, approachable and respectful. I felt well taken care of and had good trust in his ability to navigate multiple outings through very diverse experiences.
