FAQs

  • Bangkok: What does a modular trip mean? A modular trip means fellow travellers will join and leave at various locations. There’ll be some goodbyes, sure, but there’ll also be plenty of hellos with new like-minded travellers.

Included Experience

  • Georgetown: Georgetown is home to some of the most striking temples and street art, specially created to make everyone super jelly of your insta feed.
  • Kuala Lumpur: See more of Kuala Lumpur with a visit to the world famous Batu Caves - gigantic limestones caves housing a Hindu temple. After dragging your eyes away from the 140-foot tall statue of Lord Murugan, the Hindu God, climb the 272 stairs to reach the main cave for some amazing views. Careful of any cheeky monkeys whilst you snap pics of the Kuala Lumpur skyline.

The name "Contiki" comes from the portmanteau 'Con' from the word 'Continent' and 'Tiki'; from the Māori referring to the first man, often symbolised as a pendant known as hei-tiki. It can also be attributed to the New Zealand slang 'Tiki-tour' describing taking a longer route to a destination in order to explore.[5]

The adventure was lots of fun. I had lots of fun exploring new countries and was not disappointed with my trip booking. My trip manager, Tone, was amazing! Tone is very kind, approachable, fun, and also a great guide! Tone was a great resource, whether I needed suggestions for things to do in different cities, wanted to learn more about historical sites, or needed assistance. As a Contiki trip manager, I would rate Tone 10/10!

Mostly smooth sailing. There was a small hiccup with our booking and we had to be in touch with Contiki to make sure the booking had been confirmed. The trip was long enough to enjoy a nice break. There was a good mix of included activities and free time. Knowing the cost of the add on activities before hand would have been useful for planning and budgeting purposes. Our tour leader "Personal information removed by Feefo provided us with a range of recommendations for the free time at each stop. Our local guide *Personal information removed by Feefo*was also friendly and super knowledgeable. Accomodation was comfortable and slightly exceeded our expectations.

Booked through Gap360, very easy to book with. The itinerary was very good; a few walking tours with some sight seeing which were made fun and interactive unlike some trips I've been on. Also, there were optional activities which were good add ons to choose and also an option for people not to choose if they wanted free time. Trip manager, "Personal Information removed by Feefo was very helpful, organised and friendly; also willing to be a photographer at any second! The local guides were also very friendly and helpful. It was all really timely, put together and informative. The trip was great, the tour manager was calm and she showed us a mix of local and tourist favourites that was a good balance. Recommend the food.

No issues with th3 booking but wished the group in whatsapp was already set up before arriving to thebplace. *personal info removed by Feefo* was awesome and accommodating with the tour. All the activities and places we visited were nice but wished we had more time at places. While I knew I had to pay extra for the activities, I wished I knew how much it actually cost so I could budget myself

Experience It was a great experience in terms of booking and communication prior to the trip. I like that logistics are all handled for me, but it would have been nice to add more activities to the itinerary. Having a tour guide to add a bit of history was a nice touch. And was great meeting new people. I did not, however, like that I was only told that it was a modular trip when I was already on the plane and merging the modular groups was handled poorly.

Nothing super exciting about this trip. Malaysia is okay and Singapore is great if you can stay for extra days after the trip ends. The places visited were a bit average. Kuala Lumpur and Cameron Highlands especially. Penang was okay, but didn't spend a lot of time there. Nothing super exciting about this trip.
