Journey through the Great Rift Valley on the way to one of the most famous national parks in Africa. Enjoy a late afternoon wildlife safari drive in the hopes of spotting the "big five".

Head out for a late afternoon wildlife safari drive with excellent chances of seeing the "big five" — watch for lion, cheetah, buffalo, elephant and giraffe. The varied wildlife and natural environment come together to provide a spectacular safari experience.
Day 3: Masai Mara
Enjoy an early wildlife safari drive when animals are most active. Opt to visit a Masai village, learn to dance like a warrior, stop in the manyatta (family compound) and learn about this nomadic culture.
Opt to go for a balloon safari for a new perspective over the beautiful landscape. Pre-book on the checkout page to include this optional activity on your tour or ask your GCO or travel agent for assistance.
Day 4: Masai Mara/Nairobi
Travel back to Nairobi today with a stop along the way at the G for Good supported Ubuntu Cafe. Enjoy lunch here with the group and learn about how this initiative is empowering the local community. After lunch the group will resume the drive back to Nairobi.
Breathe in the fresh morning air as you begin the drive back to Nairobi. Stop in the rural settlement of Maai Mahiu and visit the G for Good supported Ubuntu Cafe for lunch. This initiative has created over 400 sustainable local jobs for mothers of children with disabilities, and is working to support pediatric health and education programs in the region.
Day 5: Nairobi/Arusha
Spend the day travelling to Tanzania.
Journey across the border into Tanzania, arriving in the picturesque town of Arusha in the afternoon. Spend some time exploring the town and its bustling markets, and have another night in the comfort of a hotel. Upon arrival into Arusha, you may be joined by other G Adventures travellers starting the Tanzania portion of the trip.
Day 6: Arusha/Mto wa Mbu
Experience the Mto wa Mbu village with a guided cultural walk and traditional lunch with a local family. Take a wildlife safari drive in Lake Manyara NP.
Travel to Mto wa Mbu village and take part in a cultural walk to learn about village life in the area. Meet the women who run the village tours and enjoy a delicious home made traditional lunch.
Spend the afternoon viewing wildlife along the main road that winds through a lush cool forests of Lake Manyara National Park, overgrown with ficus trees and covered with bromeliads.
This area is truly stunning, as the western wall of the Rift Valley escarpment provides a gorgeous backdrop. Search for the phenomenal birdlife, tree-climbing lions, elephants, giraffes, and hippos.

We have taken quite a few G Adventures tours and we love the small group style of adventure travel. The guides are always knowledgeable and the ethos of supporting local is not just talked about but truly seen when on the tour. We also enjoy that it typically attracts people from around the world, so the trip is not just a bunch of Americans or Brits, but a more diverse group of people.

Other than issues with the end hotel the experience was mostly great by both the guides- I really enjoyed the camping style and the amount 0f animals we saw was fantastic. There was a moment in Kenya though where I felt that the guide should have held their tongue with regards to how much was paid for an item- or should have forewarned before letting us enter a particular store.
