Breathe in the fresh morning air as you begin the drive back to Nairobi. Stop in the rural settlement of Maai Mahiu and visit the G for Good supported Ubuntu Cafe for lunch. This initiative has created over 400 sustainable local jobs for mothers of children with disabilities, and is working to support pediatric health and education programs in the region.

Day 5: Nairobi/Arusha

Spend the day travelling to Tanzania.
Journey across the border into Tanzania, arriving in the picturesque town of Arusha in the afternoon. Upon arrival into Arusha, you may be joined by other G Adventures travellers starting the Tanzania portion of the trip.

The organization was perfect from beginning to the end, the CEO Joe and Moses were very friendly and competent and answered all our questions but could also share a laugh with us. We have taken quite a few G Adventures tours and we love the small group style of adventure travel. The guides are always knowledgeable and the ethos of supporting local is not just talked about but truly seen when on the tour. We also enjoy that it typically attracts people from around the world, so the trip is not just a bunch of Americans or Brits, but a more diverse group of people.

Other than issues with the end hotel the experience was mostly great by both the guides- I really enjoyed the camping style and the amount 0f animals we saw was fantastic. There was a moment in Kenya though where I felt that the guide should have held their tongue with regards to how much was paid for an item- or should have forewarned before letting us enter a particular store.
