Called America's First Bohemia, Greenwich Village is one of the most distinctive neighborhoods in New York City. Enjoy breakfast at a local diner, then board a ferry for a cruise of New York Harbor. Take in the incredible views of the towering Statue of Liberty. Dock and get up-close to “Lady Liberty.” She has welcomed immigrants and visitors to New York Harbor since 1886. Created as a token of friendship between the U.S. and France, the Statue of Liberty has become a global symbol of freedom. Then it’s on to Ellis Island. Step back in time on a self-guided tour of the museum. Come to know the personal stories of the immigration boom of 1892-1924 when 12 million people passed through this station on their journey to America. Enjoy some time at leisure to partake in New York’s fabulous holiday shopping at the world’s most famous department stores including Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s and Saks Fifth Avenue, all dressed up in their holiday best, or choose to join an optional walking tour of Greenwich Village including dinner.

With neo Gothic Trinity Church at one end and the East River at the other, Wall Street's endurance is a part of New York's and America's legend.
This morning, reflect at the 9/11 Memorial and take a self-guided tour at the 9/11 Museum - two poignant tributes to the lives lost. This evening, join your fellow travelers for a final toast as we gather for dinner at a local restaurant. Then, it’s off to exhilarating Times Square to take your seat at an included Broadway show! A Story of Hard Work and a Passion for Travel “Our first office was so tiny that if you took a step backwards, you fell down an open hole that was stairs to the basement. Now we are a worldwide company with offices in the United States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom.” – Alice I. Sullivan, Chairperson of the Collette Board.Collette is about family As his family grew, Dan’s children took on active roles in the company – in sales, tour development, marketing, tour guiding, and in its charitable arm. Working with a team of dedicated employees, they all stayed true to the original vision of expanding travel opportunities for everyone. That tradition continued as Dan’s eldest child, Dan Sullivan Jr., took the reins as President and CEO in 1990 and the company flourished. Collette_HQ_380x250_v2 The third generation of Sullivans entered the company in the early 2000s, and in 2018 Dan Sullivan Jr.’s daughter, Jaclyn Leibl-Cote, became President & Chief Customer Experience Officer. In 2023, after she successfully steered Collette through the global pandemic, Dan proudly turned the CEO role over to Jaclyn and transitioned to Executive Chairman of the Board. Mrs. Leibl-Cote is only the 4th CEO in the company’s history and its first female leader, making Collette one of the rare companies successfully transfer to the 3rd generation of leadership.

No activities were planned for Sunday Dec 3rd and we had to check out of the Hotel by 11:00am, the bus was scheduled for 3:45pm and our flight was scheduled for 7:00pm. Our entire group was forced to hang out in the hotel lobby for hours!

I had been to New York before years ago, before 9/11. I was apprehensive about returning. I was pleasantly surprised my visit was safe and delightful. I attribute the safety and security to Collette and and the wonderful guides.
