Itinerary
How could next year NOT be incredible when it starts with you prancing around Paris?! Gather round and get ready to hit the road, the party starts pronto. Shortly before we find our ferry for France, we'll be taking in the English coastline beauty of the White Cliffs of Dover. They owe their gorgeousness to their composition of chalk - you're seeing things and we haven't even left the UK! We'll take in the history of World War I battlefields as we drive through the Valley of the Somme and Vimy Ridge. This sobering reminder of the war, and a historical talk will help us remind ourselves of the days gone by. Cheese, wine, blockbuster sights at every corner, museums, shopping - the list is endless and the good times are only just beginning. Tonight, we'll tuck into a delicious included welcome dinner at a local restaurant in Montmartre.
Accommodation: Ibis Paris Porte D'Orleans Hotel (or similar)

Start dropping the “bonne annee” line as it’s NYE! Does it get better than this? We sure don't think so. Today, you've got some time to explore the pretty Parisian streets. Plus you'll have the chance to visit a French Perfumery to get scented for tonight! Then, we're off to a party in neon-lit Pigalle (and start the countdown) with your Contiki fam. Time for Paris to show us how it's done.

Contiki (CA)
Contiki is a New Zealand-based tour company that caters to 18 to 35-year-olds, offering over 350 different tours in over 75 countries in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, North America, South America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.[1] It is a subsidiary of The Travel Corporation. Its tours historically had a reputation for partying;[2][3] however, it also operates wellness trips culturally immersive experiences that focus less on alcohol, which are more popular with Generation Z.[4] The company owns lodging facilities in Europe, including the Chateau De Cruix, a 16th century castle in the Beaujolais wine region, and the Gasthof Schoneck in the Austrian Tyrol. The name "Contiki" comes from the portmanteau 'Con' from the word 'Continent' and 'Tiki'; from the Māori referring to the first man, often symbolised as a pendant known as hei-tiki. It can also be attributed to the New Zealand slang 'Tiki-tour' describing taking a longer route to a destination in order to explore.[5]

The guides are what make this trip worth it, they put in a lot of work to make the trip as special and seamless as possible. Accomodation is ordinary, but you'll hardly spend any time in there. It was easy, although I made a mistake entirely of my own doing, in which contiki were more than happy to help fix the mistake.

The trip manager was absolutely amazing (Shoutout to Nina K)! It was great to have some activities together yet get some free time. My favorite part was the first dinner with the guy serenading us. One problem that occurred is that we didn't get our agenda until late, so it was difficult to know when to book things in our free time. My understanding is that the trip managers were asked to lead the trip by Contiki very late. I personally believe the corporate level of Contiki should have had a roughed out agenda to us a month or more in advance, so that was a real shame and we struggled to see many of the things we wanted due to full bookings. Additionally, I think NYE should be planned out as a group activity... after all it's called NYE in Paris. Nina and Grayson did a great job pulling together an agenda, but I think the corporate folks at Contiki should have this handled well in advance.

Unfortunately Contiki has a very bad administration team, the worse in any travel company I've booked through before. My trip was overbooked, and only designated a tour guide a week and a half before the trip (in which they found out that week), when I booked 6 months prior. This means free time attractions were already booked, which dampened the whole experience. Food options were poor, when you go on holiday, you want good food. Accommodation was more like a hostel, there wasn't even tea and coffee in the rooms and no daily towel changes. I've even put in a complaint to contiki and their pryamid company and they can't even respond. I would not recommend contiki to anyone.

The *Personal information removed by Feefo* is the best! Funny and responsible. The trip was fantastic too. I got to see a lot of Paris just in 3 days and the extras are amazing too. If you haven't done Moulin Rouge, def need to do it! Once in a lifetime experience . Its a good combination of guided tour and some free time for me.

Had a blast! LOVED our guide Holly. Saw cool sites, ate good food and enjoyed every minute of Paris. First time traveling internationally since Covid and glad I spent the trip with Contiki. The travel, lodging, meals, activities everything was planned effortlessly. Going to Greece in may with contiki. Highly recommend.

Would have preferred the tour's new year's eve celebrations to be based around the fireworks rather than just a pub. Trip manager and driver went above and beyond.

We have done a lot given the trip was only for 3 days Holly had a little history session while on the bus. I really liked that. It helped me to understand the french culture a little better. The bonuses are great too.
