Delve into centuries of history, joining your Local Specialist for a guided walk past the city's iconic sights. Visit the final resting place of Bohemian kings, St. Vitus Cathedral, set within the precincts of Prague Castle. Then, admire the Astronomical Clock in the Old Town Square, with its hourly Walk of the Apostles. See the 14th-century Charles Bridge, lined with the Baroque statues of saints, before spending the afternoon admiring the spectacular cityscape on your own.

Travel south from Prague through lush Moravian landscapes to Bratislava, passing its quaint Old Town, before continuing your journey to Vienna – our home for the next two nights. Admire the city's musical talents and consider attending a fun dinner with musical entertainment.

Today we join an included sightseeing tour with a Local Specialist to view the Hofburg Palace, the official residence of the President of Austria and former home of the Habsburg Dynasty. We'll see such sights as the Parliament Building, the magnificent Opera House and St. Stephen's Cathedral with its geometrically tiled roof. Spend the afternoon on your own, indulging in the city's kaffee culture with a slice or two of Sachertorte.

Cross the hilly Transdanubia region – its orchards and vineyards providing a picturesque backdrop – as you continue along the path of the Danube and stop in the former trade-route town of Győr. Amble along Baross Gábor Street and admire the Baroque façade, before continuing to the romantic city of Budapest where we will spend the next two nights. Tonight's Be My Guest experience will see us Connect With Locals over dinner with the Schieszl family and hear the story of their winery.

Join a Local Specialist this morning for a walking tour. Visit the Fisherman's Bastion, view the Matthias Church and drive to Pest to see the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe. We pay tribute to the seven chieftains of the Magyars in Heroes' Square before enjoying time at leisure in the Jewish Quarter or shop for Hungarian embroidery and fine porcelain. On our last evening together, we toast to a magnificent journey to the imperial capitals of Europe and enjoy a Farewell Dinner in a local restaurant.

If you can, take an extra day at each end of the trip. Everyone in my group loved both Prague and Budapest! Could’ve spent a week in each city on this trip, but we saw the highlights and had a variety of experiences that made it definitely worthwhile. Excellent mix of extraordinary excursions and free time. This was my first Trafalgar trip but it won't be my last. The Prague Vienna Budapest itinerary gave us all the highlights, in-depth excursions with local tour guides, and time to explore the cities on our own. You can't go wrong with Trafalgar. Professional bus driver, clean coach, wonderful excursion choices, and informed local guides. *Personal information removed by Feefo* was very professional, helpful, caring, and prepared for each day. She is a superb trip guide. No surprise, the tour guides in each city were excellent. The trip was well planned and we were always informed of the day's itinerary and given times to meet. The hotels were top notch, with our favorite being the Budapest Crowne Plaza because of the buffet breakfast. The staff in the breakfast room were very helpful and efficient, not to mention the wonderful selection of fresh fruit and juices and multiple food choices. One of our favorite excursions was the Danube dinner cruise with the lovely buffet dinner. My favorite museum for any city would be the Fine Arts museum in Vienna. The Vienna concert with classical music, opera, and ballet was also enjoyed by all. The chosen excursions were all great choices. Three cheers for Trafalgar!

Food was average.. wasn’t enough included visits .. one day was completely free .. but you could pay to have something to do which wasn’t good enough. Tour guide was fantastic and fun .. bus was good and sites we saw were interesting.

Check Republic vacation 2024. Our tour guide *Personal details removed by Feefo* was extremely professional and one of the best tour guides we’ve ever had. very knowledgeable and focused on the days activities and treated everyone like she knew each of us personally. Our bus driver, *Personal details removed by Feefo* was very professional and courteous, and helped everybody on and off the bus and drove very safely. My wife and I have been celebrating our wedding anniversary’s in Europe for the past 15 years and this was the first time we used Trafalgar. This trip was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had in Europe from the tour guide to the driver to the bus accommodations the hotel accommodations the excursions the professionalism and hospitality was above our expectations. The cost for this trip was extremely economical also. We are planning on next trip with Trafalgar for our 42nd wedding anniversary next year. We would like to thank everybody at Trafalgar for making these experiences, memorable the rest of our lives.
