FAQs

  • London: What does a modular trip mean? A modular trip means fellow travellers will join and leave at various locations. There’ll be some goodbyes, sure, but there’ll also be plenty of hellos with new like-minded travellers.
  • Oslo: What’s the weather like in winter? Scandinavia can be extremely cold during the winter (we’re talking 0°C or 32°F). Heads up! On rare occasions your Trip Manager might be forced to alter the itinerary due to adverse weather conditions.
  • Oslo: What should I pack for a winter trip in Scandinavia? Pack warm! We suggest bringing a warm waterproof jacket, gloves, thermals, hat, and sunglasses. Plus, a good pair of sturdy shoes for walking across snow or ice.
  • Oslo: What’s the weather like in summer? Scandinavian weather can be extremely varied. In the shoulder season (May and October) you can expect single-digit temperature and warm sunny days. From June until September, temperatures can reach well above 30° C (86° F).
  • Oslo: What should I pack for a summer trip in Scandinavia? It’s always a good idea to bring a warm windproof jacket cuz it can get quite cool at night especially outside of the cities.
  • Oslo: Will I see the Northern Lights? Hopefully! The Northern Lights (AKA the Aurora Borealis) are a natural display of coloured lights in the night sky of the northern hemisphere. They’re a natural phenomenon, so it can never be guaranteed. But you’ll have a higher chance of seeing them the further up north you go & if the sky’s clear. (Fingers crossed...)
  • Oslo: What currencies will I encounter on this trip? The currencies of the countries we visit on this trip are the Danish Krone (DKK), the Norwegian Krone (NOK), and the Swedish Krone (SEK). Need cash? ATMs are readily available, and most places accept credit/debit cards.

Included Experience

  • Copenhagen: Kick off your trip with a visit to the Little Mermaid state, the Gefion Fountain and the Royal Palace. Let the photo ops begin...
  • Oslo: Take an orientation around the friendly Norwegian capital. Soak up the Viking and maritime legacy, see city highlights and discover where to get the best seafood.
  • Oslo: Get your sculpture culture on! It’s hard to believe that one artist created all of these masterpieces.
  • Stockholm: Admire the kaleidoscopic buildings in Gamla Stan (the old town) and watch the changing of the guards at the Royal Palace
  • Stockholm: Wanna get a feel for Sweden's stunning capital? Come discover the historic sites of Stockholm, from the kaleidoscopic buildings of Gamla Stan (the old town) to the stunning waterfront views.

Contiki (CA)

Contiki is a New Zealand-based tour company that caters to 18 to 35-year-olds, offering over 350 different tours in over 75 countries in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, North America, South America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.[1] It is a subsidiary of The Travel Corporation. Its tours historically had a reputation for partying;[2][3] however, it also operates wellness trips culturally immersive experiences that focus less on alcohol, which are more popular with Generation Z.[4] The company owns lodging facilities in Europe, including the Chateau De Cruix, a 16th century castle in the Beaujolais wine region, and the Gasthof Schoneck in the Austrian Tyrol. The name "Contiki" comes from the portmanteau 'Con' from the word 'Continent' and 'Tiki'; from the Māori referring to the first man, often symbolised as a pendant known as hei-tiki. It can also be attributed to the New Zealand slang 'Tiki-tour' describing taking a longer route to a destination in order to explore.[5]
