Itinerary
Welcome to your African safari adventure! Our first stop is the Shanga Community Project, which offers employment to the disabled people of the community. Afterwards, we'll head to our first national park in Tanzania - Tarangire, home to two of Africa's giants: elephants and baobab trees. The lodge will provide us with a buffet dinner tonight, so make sure you're hungry!
Accommodation: Roika Tented Camp (or similar)
Meals: Dinner
An early start this morning will take us into the Tarangire National Park for a full day, in the hopes for a glimpse of some of its elusive predators and changing landscapes. We'll stay here for most of the day with a packed lunch provided to give us the most opportunity of exploring this wildlife wilderness. Afterwards, we'll visit a Maasai village, meeting some of the locals to learn all about their customs and way of life. There'll be a buffet dinner tonight too, so be sure to save some room!
Accommodation: Roika Tented Camp (or similar)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast we'll set out in our safari vehicles to our next destination: the Serengeti. We take in views of the Rift valley and the rim of Ngorogoro Crater as we make our way to the main gate of the Serengeti, stopping off to visit Mto Wa Mbu Village and a local market. We'll drive through the endless plains of this vast reserve to reach our accommodation for the night. Tonights accommodation will be a safari-style lodge in the middle of the Serengeti. A buffet meal will be served for dinner, and you're free to sit outside and listen to the sounds of nocturnal animals waking up to forage or hunt, all while sitting under the bright canopy of stars in the African sky.
Accommodation: Kon tiki Serengeti Camp (or similar)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
We'll spend a full day seeking out the game of Africa's plains, with predators in hot pursuit of their prey. If the wildebeest migration is around, then you are in for a wildlife treat: millions of wildebeest and zebra grazing for as far as the eye can see really is one of Africas' greatest spectacles to observe. A buffet dinner awaits us back at our safari camp.
Accommodation: Kon tiki Serengeti Camp (or similar)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Enjoy some breakfast before we depart the Serengeti with a morning game drive on our way to our next destination, the Ngorongoro Crater. In the late morning we reach the Ngorongoro Crater, an ancient volcano, boasting one of the highest densities of predators stalking the abundant wildlife enclosed inside the volcano's centre. We'll stop here for a picnic lunch before we ascend the plateau. A true natural wonder, only found in Africa.
Accommodation: Eileen's Tree Inn (or similar)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Its our last day on safari and our last chance for some wildlife viewing. Opt to jump on one last game drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Renowned for its famed tree-climbing lions, Lake Manyara is a completely different ecosystem to the other parks we have visited with grassy floodplains and massive forests to spot unique wildlife and bird-life to this region. With full hearts and memories made, it's time to say fond farewells to your new lifelong friends, and to our African adventure.

What an incredible adventure! My friend and I had the best time on our Contiki trip in September. We had the chance to meet people from all over the world while getting to experience bucket list items being ticked off together. We got to see the big 5, along with so many other animals we weren’t expecting to see. Our guide, *Personal information removed by Feefo*, was incredibly knowledgeable and made sure we always felt safe, informed and most importantly that we were having fun. Our accommodations were all great, with toilets, hot showers and mosquito nets provided. Our accommodations were all able to adhere to strict food allergies, and *Personal information removed by Feefo* also made sure to check with waiters each time they brought out food for those with food allergies, making for a very relaxing dinner for all to enjoy. All accomodations provided us all individually packaged lunches that were so full of food we could never finish them. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and we were never left hungry. I loved all the travel whether it was a long bumpy road through the Serengeti or a lush drive through the Crater. We were always prepared for what our drive would be like and toilet stops were planned out in the morning so we all knew what the day would hold. I think the highlights for this trip were seeing massive herds of elephants surround our car in the Serengeti as well as Tarangire National Park, before they silently wandered off, with the babies in tow. Also seeing lots of lion cubs on a Pride rock was definitely up there especially getting the chance to hear them whine at their mother. Getting to see not one but two leopards was also an amazing experience, with one of them walking around before jumping on a branch on full display for pictures. I would absolutely recommend this trip to anyone who wants to go to Africa. Not only was it a way of doing a safari hassle-free but also being able to meet others and gain valuable knowledge of Tanzania and immerse ourselves in the culture. Highly recommend!

Loved every aspect of the trip! I can't pick one! But the experience wouldn't have been made without the guides they were so so so knowledgeable and made the long drives so much fun. You can tell they really love their jobs and go out of their way to make sure we had a good experience.

The trip was amazing! Saw so many amazing animals and felt like I got the true experience. The only downfall was the guide was horrible. Didn't answer any of my questions. Almost missed my flight because he insisted we go for lunch. And when I asked him to set up my own airport transportation he told me to relax.. like okay.... and I feel like he just didn't listen. And every other guide I've had in the past has been amazing. Very Helpful! Answered all my questions. Helped me with any issue or concerns I had.

I couldn't have asked for a better trip and trip group! Efficient booking system and all our questions were answered promptly.

Everything was brilliant. Contiki and our guide *Personal information removed by Feefo* were organised and informative throughout. *Personal information removed by Feefo* provided great communication, knowledge and fun whilst taking us to Tanzanian safari hotspots to experience the wildlife up close. It was a fantastic experience and we would highly reccommend safaris in Tanzania and "Personal information removed by Feefo* as your guide! Made a whatsapp group chat prior to arrival.

The Tanzania Safari is incredible we saw such a huge variety of animals so close up, all thanks to the expertise of our guide *Personal information removed by Feefo* who went above and beyond to ensure we had the most amazing experience. Particular highlight was also the accommodation in the Serengeti - glamping right in the middle of a national park!

Taste of Tanzania was the trip of a lifetime. It brought together an amazing group of people and we had the best guides/drivers possible. We saw the Big 5 and so much more. This trip exceeded our expectations. The Taste of Tanzania trip was incredible. The safari exceeded all possible expectations. The guides/drivers were very knowledgeable and had answers to every question. They were dedicated to providing us with the best safari possible #contikijb . The lodges had all the amenities we needed and the staff as each location were very friendly and accommodating. The food options provided were delicious and plentiful. Highly, highly recommend! We did not have any issues as we booked through a travel agent but some others on the trip did not receive information for Visas or trip details prior to the start of the trip.

The itinerary was well thought out and covered Tarangire Narional Park, Serengeti and the Ngorongoro crater. While there were long car trips, they were always very entertaining with multiple stops built in to local markets, centres or to view the wildlife. We had an amazing group of travellers most of which were our age group (late twenties) and passionate travellers. JB and Ahmed took care of our every need, were incredibly knowledgeable and with a great sense of humor. Our trip manager and tour guide were absolutely incredible and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time, felt safe, experienced as much of the culture as possible and saw all the wildlife/game and more!
